Well here goes another year;
The great prophet Isaiah wanted to be used of God. He had a desire to see all of his kinsmen come to know the greatness of serving the Lord. He spoke with God about this desire and what could be done. How could one man, a simple prophet, be used to honor God, and reach others who were his countrymen? The answer the Lord gave him was surprising.
Isaiah 49:6 (NASB)
He says, "It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make You a light of the nations So that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth."
It seems the Lord had more in mind than Isaiah did. I think this is something we need to learn from Isaiah. We too often set our goals to small and think we will just do this much. We so often take on a man size job when in fact we are called out by God to do God sized jobs.
It really is amazing what can be accomplished when you say yes to The Lord. Don't make the mistake of setting your sights in 2014 on too small. My prayer for 2014 is that the things I do will make a difference and to put the spotlight on the Lord and His goodness to us. My desire is that everyone could know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. I pray that I am part of the Choir that sings this song worldwide for as long as I can. I look forward to 2014 to see what the Lord will do. I am always open to God’s direction in my life.
God bless you in 2014, and remember as 2013 comes to an end to keep GOD’S FIRE BURNING IN 2014.
